The chest is deep and broad, and the abdomen is well tucked up.The moderately long tail is set high and is carried over the back. The feet are round, with close knit toes ( cat’s feet ) and thick pads. The fore legs are straight and the elbows are held close.

The double coat consists of a long, straight and stand-off outer coat and a dense, soft and short undercoat.The hair is more abundant around the neck, withers and brisket, where it forms a dense ruff, as well as on the tail. The hair is significantly shorter on the face, the ears and on the front of the legs.
Japanese Spitz are always pure white in color, with dark ( black ) pigmentation on the lips, nose, eye rims, nails and pads. The eyes are dark.

Do not comb and brush the Japanese Spitz too often, there is a risk that this will damage the undercoat.
