Welsh Terrier dog grooming
The amount of coat care depends on the quality of the coat and on the dog’s purpose. A Welsh Terrier dog that is not shown and that has a good coat will need to be plucked no more than twice a year. Outside these trims a Welsh Terrier that is kept as a pet needs to be thoroughly brushed and combed at least once a week and its beard and mustache needs to be cleaned and combed as required. A slicker brush is an ideal tool for this. Show-dogs need (considerably) more plucking and trimming sessions to say ahead of the competition in the show-ring. This normally involves clipping the neck and the top-line. the sides the tail and the head, leaving the hair a little longer on the legs, on the lower abdomen and the facial features ( beard, mustache and short eyebrows ).
